I am attempting to transmit my first return of the tax season and was unable to connect with the CRA or Revenu Québec website. Why is that?
In the majority of cases, the procedure below will rectify this matter:

For Federal T1
- Select EFILE setup from the Efile menu.
- Verify that the EFILE number is the one assigned to you by the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Take note of your 2013 Canada Revenue Agency password.
- Click Restore defaults .
- Enter your 2013 Canada Revenue Agency password.
- Click Save to complete the EFILE setup.
Important: Be sure to recalculate (Alt+F9) the applicable client before attempting to retransmit the return in question.

For Quebec TP1
- Select Efile setup... from the Efile menu and access the Quebec TP1 tab.
- Verify that the EFILE number is the one assigned to you by Revenu Québec.
- Take note of your 2013 WEB Access Code.
- Click Restore defaults.
- Enter your 2013 WEB Access Code.
- Click Save to complete the EFILE setup.
Important: Be sure to recalculate (Alt+F9) the applicable client before attempting to retransmit the return in question.
